Data Insight Leaders 2017 Day Two – the final countdown

This is continuing my report from Data Insight Leaders 2017 Day Two. That is, day two of a useful Summit (that I’m chairing), held in Barcelona. In this post I summarise this final day of an enjoyable event. I’m not just saying it’s good because I chaired this conference, honest! Talking to the actual data insight leaders who attended (and made up most of our audience), they agreed it was.. Read More

Data Insight Leaders Summit 2017 Day One – a debrief

After a pause in blogging, for a much-needed holiday, I’ve returned with a debrief from day one of Data Insight Leaders Summit 2017. It’s a joy to be back out in Barcelona chairing the second incarnation of this very useful  annual event. A gathering of over 100 data insight leaders from across UK & Europe, spending time together sharing their experience. As I said to delegates this morning, one of the.. Read More

Useful event for Customer Analytics leaders, a quick debrief

This week I had the opportunity to attend an event for Customer Analytics & Insight leaders. Run by CACI, in London, it proved to be a good opportunity to catch-up with others’ perspectives. Reassuringly, the agenda designed for this audience, focussed on many familiar topics from this blog. It was also free to attend & very popular, so worth considering in future. There were a mixture of CACI and external.. Read More

Event based Marketing and why GDPR makes it more important

This week, I had opportunity to lecture at the Royal Institute. Ok, not really lecture, but share advice on event based marketing. I may not have fulfilled a pipe-dream to give a Christmas Lecture at the Royal Institute, but it was a fascinating time. Over 40 of us were gathered there for another breakfast briefing sponsored by My Customer and Royal Mail Data Services (RMDS). Compared to previous breakfasts, this briefing.. Read More

Chat about event triggers, over breakfast in the Gherkin

This week I had the privilege of speaking at a breakfast briefing hosted by MyCustomer and Royal Mail Data Services. It was a great opportunity to share how useful event triggers can be, from my own experience helping clients. Those joining us for this ‘invitation only’ breakfast came from a range of sectors, including not-for-profit, Retail & Financial Services. Only a minority were already actively using Predictive Analytics, to target their marketing, but.. Read More

What did you think about after your wedding?

Enjoying the emotions of the event of my second son’s wedding, last Saturday, was the highlight of our family’s year. After the drama of the ceremony (including the comedy of a fire alarm that wouldn’t give up), we enjoyed great food at the reception, moving speeches and then the joys of drink & dancing into the wee small hours. Everyone agreed it was a great day with brilliant weather. Reflecting.. Read More

How do you judge value before attending?

How do you judge if an event is right for you? With all business leaders living such busy lives these days, even free events cost you valuable time to attend, so you need a way to judge value in advance. A helpful trend is the more common practice, recently, of conferences releasing pre-event videos or podcasts. This enables potential delegates to hear speakers, so as to judge value & relevance to them. In preparation for.. Read More
